Santam Re & International: Enhancements to our underwriting team structure

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement and ensuring exceptional client service, I am excited to announce significant enhancements to our Underwriting team that will strengthen our capabilities and further improve the quality of our service delivery.

These enhancements are effective from 01 July 2024 and entail the restructuring of our Underwriting team to introduce a dedicated Client Management function that will be supported by a solid Underwriting and Pricing team.

The key changes in this restructure include the following:

Client Management Function: each market will now be led by a designated Cluster Market Head, responsible for business development, overseeing underwriting operations and ensuring bespoke solutions and alignment with your specific requirements and market dynamics.

Territorial Leads: the Cluster Market Heads will be supported by Territorial Leads, who will serve as primary points of contact, ensuring personalised attention and a swift response to your needs.

Underwriting and Pricing: this function will focus on Pricing, Underwriting and Actuarial analysis. The team will work diligently behind the scenes to ensure accuracy, competitiveness and innovation in our offerings.

These enhancements are designed to streamline communication, improve responsiveness and enhance our overall underwriting processes, ultimately benefitting you, our valued business partner.
